TitleSNMP query issue
Symptoms
A specific SNMP community string returns errors during SNMP walk
Environment
  • NOS 7.1.0 or lower
  • All VDX platforms
Cause
NOS-53283
  • Rarely, after a reload, software upgrade, or switch segments and rejoins, a single SNMP community can fail to respond
    • Issue caused by a discrepancy between the front end and backend database
Resolution
Upgrade to NOS 7.1.0 and higher.

If upgrade is not possible, try the following to restore SNMP queries to the affected community string: 
  1. Remove the affected community string and re-configure it
  2. If the above step does not resolve the issue, try the below procedure
2.1 Remove the affected community string
2.2 Add a new 'dummy' community string
2.3 Add the affected community string back to the configuration, so it uses a new index in the backend database.
