Symptoms
  • Error message below appears when configuring a VRRP-E vrid:

%% Error: Maximum number of unique VMAC have already been configured

%% Error: Maximum number of unique VMAC have already been configured
 
Environment
  • BR-SLX-9540
  • SLX-OS 20.1.1 code
  • VRRP-E v2/v3 configuration
  • There is a mix of user configured and system generated VMACs
  • Here are the 16 VMACs in use:

Cause
The SLX is limited to 16 unique active VMAC's per system
Resolution
Select a VRID corresponding to one of the IPv4/IPv6 system generated VMACs, per the table in KB 46914: %% Error: Maximum number of unique VMAC have already been configured
