Information

TitleExtreme Management Center VSP Archives Randomly Fail "CLI User ... must have admin access to perform configuration archive"
Symptoms
  • Archives randomly fail indicating admin access rights have not been detected via the script for a target switch.
  • CLI credentials used have sufficient rights.
  • Inventory Manager reports:
CLI User <username> must have admin access to perform configuration archive
Environment
  • Extreme Management Center (XMC, formerly NetSight)
  • All Software Releases
  • Archives
  • VOSS / VSP
Cause
Unknown. Internal debug indicated the endpoint switch did not echo back the command strings sent to perform admin rights detection and as such the detection failed. It is unclear if the switch failed to send this data to XMC or if XMC failed to process this data upon receipt.
Resolution
No direct solution available.

An increase in the number of vCPUs for the XMC appliance may have indirectly resolved this issue.
