XMC Device Location not saved to switch

TitleXMC Device Location not saved to switch
Symptoms
When changing device Location (Contact or System Name) from XMC Device > Configure, changes were not saved to switch.
Environment
  • Extreme Management Center
  • Netsight
  • XMC
  • SNMP
Cause
Location is being saved to XMC, but not enforced to the switch.
Resolution
  • Highlight Device in question > right mouse click > configure > location "TEST Location" > Enforce preview
  • Under device sysLocation Desired = "TEST Location.  Current = Switch syslocation setting
  • Enforce >  will set the switch syslocation to "TEST Location"
  • After enforce desired and current fields should match
