Symptoms
ExtremeWireless Access Point AP3825 reboots with Multicast to Unicast enabled, and a possible node leak in the firmware.
Environment
  • ExtremeWireless appliances
  • AP3825
  • firmware 10.21.03, 10.21.04, 10.31.01
Cause
  • Initially, the reboots stopped after disabling multicast to unicast on all the Access Point radios.
  • Problems were found in the Airtime Fairness (Flexible Client Access) functionality (memory leaks created due to processes not closing properly after a function call).
Resolution
  • Code implemented to reduce the memory leaks.
  • Function call review, and clean-up, with Flexible Client Access enabled.
  • Please upgrade to 10.31.03
  • If the ExtremeWireless appliances and Access Points have been upgraded to the newest firmware, and there are still reports of Access points rebooting, please remember to collect:
