TitleAP560 APs not getting adopted by the ExtremeCloud Appliance
Symptoms
AP560 APs not getting adopted by the ExtremeCloud Appliance although they are in discovery mode, DHCP options are configured and they are connected to the switch on good known working ports. The Switch is not detecting the APs MAC address and the APs are not pulling DHCP IP addresses/Options. 
Environment
  • AP560i and H 
  • Identify personality
  • Firmware: 7.1.1.0-014D
  • ExtremeCloud Appliance
  • ECA: 4.36, 4.56
  • DHCP option: 78
Cause
The AP560 APs were shipped with a pre-production firmware release, in this case 7.1.1.0-014D
Resolution
Per release notes, upgrade the firmware to a release version 'R'.

Workaround: We ran the AP in 'Standalone' mode. This allowed it to pull a DHCP IP address/options and get adopted/Upgraded by the controller. 

If DHCP option 78 is not being used, manually configure the AP to point to the ExtremeCloud Appliance:
