Symptoms
AP650/AP6532 connected to 100Mbps lan port will unadopt and drop connection when customer is trying to upload big file connected to radio 5GHz.
Environment
  • All Summit WM3000 Series Controllers
  • ExtremeWiNG Controllers
  • WirelessWiNG Controllers
  • ExtremeWiNG Access Points
  • WirelessWiNG Acess Points
  • WiNG v5.X Software
Cause
This is a hardware limitation with AP650/AP6532 and because of the way the queuing is handled when AP operates at 100Mbps.  Unfortunately, there is nothing more that can be done with regards to enhancing the performance of these APs but customer can implement one of know workarounds.
Resolution
Known workarounds:

1. Upgrade local area network switch to 1Gbps.
2. Disable N standard on 5 GHz radio.
3. Apply following qos-policy:

wlan-qos-policy FastEthernet 
rate-limit wlan to-air 
rate-limit wlan to-air rate 70000 
rate-limit wlan to-air red-threshold background 60 
rate-limit wlan to-air red-threshold best-effort 60 
rate-limit wlan to-air red-threshold video 60 
rate-limit wlan to-air red-threshold voice 60 
rate-limit wlan from-air 
rate-limit wlan from-air rate 70000 
rate-limit wlan from-air red-threshold background 60 
rate-limit wlan from-air red-threshold best-effort 60 
rate-limit wlan from-air red-threshold video 60 
rate-limit wlan from-air red-threshold voice 60 
qos trust dscp 
qos trust wmm
