Information

TitleAPs are not forming a back-up tunnel on a paired Topology when the AP registration is disabled on one Wireless appliance Topology.
Symptoms
APs are not forming a back-up tunnel on a paired Topology when the AP registration is disabled on one Wireless appliance Topology.
Environment
  • Extreme Wireless appliances.
  • All AP models.
  • Any firmware.
Cause
For a statically configured Access Point, the APs will only form the back-up tunnel on the static subnet when both Wireless appliances have a Topology configured for AP registration on the same subnet.
Resolution
  • Enable AP registration on both paired appliance Topologies.
  • Set up AP registration for the static IP Access Points on one Wireless appliance Topology, and setup the AP Wireless Search table with the IPs of all the appliances to be used for back-up/fail-over scenarios.
