Information

TitleAccess Control / EAC / NAC does not allow you to update the NAC with a NAC-V-XX license if a IA-ES-XX license is already applied
Symptoms
When updating the license of the Access Control / EAC / NAC Appliance, the appliance will eventually default to the IA-ES-XX license that was installed on the server.
The NAC-V-XX will not get applied.
Environment
  • NAC-V-20
  • NAC Manager
  • Oneview
  • Extreme Management Center
  • Access Control
  • License
  • IA-ES-1k
  • IA-ES-3k
  • IA-ES-6k
  • IA-ES-12k
Cause
After software release 7.0.8.xx, the IA-ES-XX license, also refered to as a NAC Enterprise license will override the NAC-V-20 or NAC-V-5 license
The NAC-V-XX licenses are end of life, and should be exchanged if under contract for a IA-ES-xx License.
Resolution
The customer must work with sales to get the NAC-V-XX licenses exchanged to a IA-ES-XX license. Most common licenses are NAC-V-20, which should convert to a IA-ES-3K entitlement, which can generate a license.  GTAC can generate sales leads, but it is recommended that the customer or partner contact their well known representatives directly and quickly to address the issue. GTAC cannot convert the entitlements.
