« Go Back

Information

TitleAccess Point resetting with no log indication as to why
Symptoms
  • Access Points rebooting, no reason why
  • From the access point trace packages, the file ap.logLastReboot.gz log shows the following: ---WARNING: ap-log is not valid (size 4294901759, tail 4294835967)
Environment
  • IdentiFi Wireless
  • All access point models
  • Access Points
Cause
When the power is abruptly cut the ap.logLastReboot.gz cannot be written because there is not enough time when the power goes out to write to this file.
Resolution
  • Check the switch the access point is connected to
  • Check the cabling to the access point, possible punch down or patch issue
  • Check to see if the access point has fluid damage (if an external AP)
  • Check to see if someone is pulling the cable or stopping the PoE
