Information

TitleAfter reboot of an MLAG peer, connectivity issues are seen between downstream MLAG connected hosts and single-attached hosts on one of the MLAG peers
Symptoms
After reboot of an MLAG peer, connectivity issues are seen between downstream MLAG connected hosts and single-attached hosts on one of the MLAG peers
Environment
  • EXOS All
  • MLAG
Cause
In certain scenarios, there may be a significant delay between an MLAG port going active and the ISC link going active. In this case, it is possible for the downstream MLAG connected host to hash traffic to the newly rebooted MLAG peer, but the ISC is not yet up to provide the path for this traffic.
Resolution
Configure an MLAG reload delay on the MLAG ports. The commands to do this are below:

enable mlag port reload-delay
configure mlag port reload-delay <seconds>

The default reload delay is 30 seconds.

This option was added in EXOS 21.1.3.7-patch1-4 and EXOS 22.3.
