Symptoms
  • Error 404 on EMC webpage
  • ERROR [org.hibernate.engine.jdbc.spi.SqlExceptionHelper] Failed to read from the .par file
  • ERROR [com.extreme.services.ServiceMain] Failed to create service: NetSightMBean: javax.persistence.PersistenceException: [PersistenceUnit: ReportDS] Error performing schema management
  • Caused by: org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Error accessing column metadata: netsightrpt.nsalarmhistory
  • Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: Failed to read from the .par file
Environment
EMC 8.0
Extreme Management Center 
Cause
Database corruption is preventing server services from starting
Resolution
  • Initialize database and restore known working database backup. 
 
  • If no backup exists that isn't corrupted only restore the .sql file and not the .sql.rpt file to prevent Alarms Database from being restored.
