Cause
AirDefense Services Platform Software needs to be loaded in correct order during installation and upgrade
Resolution
Pertains to ADSP software loading / correct staging sequence on all stand alone models of AirDefense appliance platforms:

Models to include: SV-125x, SV-365x, SV-4250 and NX-9500-100AD-wr, Supported ADSP VM systems

Load / Stage the AirDefense Appliance in this exact order:
  1. ADSP 9.0.023
  • Filename: AD-adsp-9-0-0-23-dvd.iso
  • 9.0.0-23 is an ISO image which must be extracted to a blank DVD which makes it bootable. (Please note: IF the appliance does not have a DVD drive you can use the 2 CD version posted at support central)
          The DVD / CD must then be physically placed in the AirDefense Appliances CD Drive and appliance           powered on / restarted.
  • You will be prompted to install the AirDefense Software = YES
  • Important: When prompted Select “Use Defaults” – This loads the appliance clean
  • System will prompt for restart after 9.00-23 is loaded successfully
       2. ADSP 9.0.1-12
  • Filename: AD-service-SM1-9.0.1-12.tar
          (This is a service module load using WINSCP program > see install guide)
           (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)
       3. ADSP 9.0.2-14
  • Filename: AD-service-SM2-9.0.2-14.tar
(This is a service module load using WINSCP program > see install guide)
(Restart of services required after SM is loaded)
       4. ADSP 9.0.3-23
  • Filename: AD-service-SM3-9.0.3-23.tar
  • 9.0.3-23e1 patch should be resident here
  • Filename: AD-upgrade-9.0.3-23e1.tar
(This is a service module load using WINSCP program > see install guide)
(Restart of services required after SM is loaded)
 
Note – ADSP software architecture changes in 9.1.x and above - see release notes 

      5. ADSP 9.1.0-35
  • Filename: AD-service-SM5-9.1.0.35.tar
  • 9.1.1-35b1 patch should be resident here
  • Filename: AD-upgrade-9.1.0-35b1.tar
(This is a service module load using WINSCP program > see install guide)

  • Note: You can upgrade to this build from any 9.0.3-23 patched version!
       6. ADSP 9.1.1-15
  • Filename: AD-service-SM6-9.1.1-15.tar
(This is a service module load using WINSCP program > see install guide)

  1. Note: You can upgrade to this build from any 9.1.0-35 patched version!
        6a. Important note for systems with Bonding feature enabled:
  1. Upgrading from ADSP 9.1.1‐15 to ADSP 9.1.2‐17 will render the ADSP appliance unreachable over the Ethernet for customers who are using the Ethernet NIC bonding feature. To avoid this, please apply the hotfix “AD‐upgrade‐911‐912‐bond.tar” on ADSP 9.1.1‐15 PRIOR to upgrading to ADSP 9.1.2‐17

      7. ADSP 9.1.2.17
  • Filename:  AD-service-SM7-9.1.2-17.tar
        (This is a service module load using WINSCP program)
       (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)

      8. ADSP 9.1.2-17a6
  • Filename: AD-upgrade-9.1.2-17a6.tar
       (This is a service module load using WINSCP program)
       (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)

      9. ADSP 9.1.3-10    Note there are 3 various types of software installations for this version.

          With the introduction of 9.1.3-10 you now have the abilitiy to load this version clean without prior software upgrades needed (if applicalble...) 
 
  • Filename: AD-adsp-9-1-3-10-dvd.iso (used for fresh install – use defaults when prompted)
  •  This is an ISO image which must be extracted to a blank DVD which makes it bootable.
  • The DVD must then be physically placed in the AirDefense Appliances DVD  Drive and appliance powered on / restarted.
  • You will be prompted to install the AirDefense Software = YES
           : When prompted Select “Use Defaults” – This loads the appliance clean  
  • Filename: AD-service-SM8-9.1.3-10.tar (service module upgrade)
 (This is a standard service module that can be applied to a system    currently running version 9.1.2.x - load using standard service module upgrade installation procedures - WINSCP program)

  • Filename: AD-VM-adsp-9-1-3-10.ova (used to load 9.1.3-10 clean on Zebra Supported VM- “virtual machine” systems)
      10. ADSP 9.1.3-10a8           (This is a standard service module - load using WINSCP program)
          (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)
 
      11. ADSP 9.1.3-10b6
  • Filename: AD-upgrade-9.1.3-10b6.tar
          (This is a standard service module - load using WINSCP program)
         (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)

      12. ADSP 9.2.0-09  
  • Note there are 2 types of software installations for this version...
  • With the introduction of 9.2.0-09 you now have the ability to load this version clean on supported ADSP VM systems without prior software upgrades needed (if applicable…)
  • Filename: AD-VM-adsp-9-2-0-09.ova
  •  Standard Service Module upgrade:
  • Filename: AD-service-SM1-9.2.0-09.tar
 
           (This is a standard service module - load using WINSCP program)
            (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)

      13. ADSP 9.2.0-09a6
  • Filename: AD-upgrade-9.2.0-09a6.tar
         (This is a standard service module - load using WINSCP program)
         (Restart of services required after SM is loaded)

      14. ADSP 9.3.0-09
  • Filename: AD-service-SM2-9.3.0-09.tar
 
(This is a standard service module - load using WINSCP program)
