TitleBcm not found SetBCM IPMC index errors
Symptoms
The following multicast kernel error messages are observed in the logs:

12/13/2014 12:05:31.68 <Erro:Kern.IPv4Mc.Error> Slot-8: Bcm not found SetBCM IPMC index for s,G,v=4021880,e000000d,102 IPMC 17, unit 0 00000000 00000000
12/13/2014 12:05:31.68 <Erro:Kern.IPv4Mc.Error> Slot-8: Unable to set IPMC index for s,G,v=4021880,e000000d,102 IPMC 17, unit 0 Invalid parameter
12/13/2014 12:05:32.33 <Erro:Kern.IPv4Mc.Error> Slot-8: IPmc sender entry s,G,v=4021880,e000000d,102 IPMC 49 was not added to all switching resources rc -4
Environment
  • BlackDiamond 8800
  • EXOS 15.4.1
Cause
The log messages are caused by a software issue described in xos0054271 / PD4-4254920950.
Resolution
Resetting the slot is an effective workaround. Identify the affected slot number from the log messages and type "disable slot <slot#>" and then "enable slot <slot#>".

Currently (January 2017) there is no EXOS version that contains a fix for this CR.
Additional notes
Also check xos0057375 , this out of sync issue can cause the same error messages and can happen on X450a/e switches and BD8K c-blades.
