Information

Title"CSPF-Computation Failed" log message
Symptoms
  • Customer reported the following error in their message log
Ex.
Jul 8 11:57:17 : CSPF-Computation failed for Secondary path To_<path name>. Error 1:No mapping
Jul 8 11:57:47 : CSPF-Computation failed for Primary path To_<path name>. Error 1:No mapping
  • Error above only displayed once even though the LSP remained down
  • LSP was down from "show mpls lsp wide" output
Admin Oper Tunnel Up/Dn Retry Active
Name To State State Intf Times No. Path

  • The rest of the devices in the LSP were showing the LSP in an "Up" state to the same destination
  • There was routing/reachability to the destination
  • The "show mpls lsp detail" was showing the following
LSP <name>_Tunnel_1, to X.X.X.X, tunnel-interface index: 501

Environment
  • MLX
  • NetIron 6.0.00g
  • MPLS
Cause
ISIS database and routing was verified and this information should be be passed to MPLS to create a path as well, but the "show mpls ted database" output is showing a "notavail" state
NodeID: ANCRAKBZ70W.00(notavail) , Type: Router

NodeID: HOMRAKAK10W.00(10.221.0.133) , Type: Router
    Type: P2P, To: PDBAAKGC01W.00(10.221.0.135) Local: 10.221.2.1, Remote: 10.221.2.2, Gen 2025
    Type: P2P, To: HOMRAKAK11W.00(10.221.0.134) Local: 10.221.2.9, Remote: 10.221.2.10, Gen 2026
    Type: P2P, To: ANCRAKBZ70W.00(notavail) Local: 10.221.2.238, Remote: 10.221.2.237, Gen 152246
    Type: P2P, To: ANCRAKBZ70W.00(notavail) Local: 10.221.2.246, Remote: 10.221.2.245, Gen 152250
    Type: P2P, To: ANCRAKBZ70W.00(notavail) Local: 10.221.2.242, Remote: 10.221.2.241, Gen 160389

Resolution
Removing and reconfiguring the traffic-eng isis level under MPLS should rebuild the TED database and resolve the issue

Ex.
telnet@EEKAKAA02W(config)#router mpls
EEKAKAA02W(config-mpls)#policy
EEKAKAA02W(config-mpls-policy)# no traffic-eng isis level-2
EEKAKAA02W(config-mpls-policy)#traffic-eng isis level-2
