TitleSome devices are not connecting to a WPA2-PSK service when Management Frame Protection is enabled
Symptoms
  • Device will not connect to SSID on either the 2.4 or 5GHz radio with Management Frame Protection (MFP) enabled.  
  • Device may connect for a short time and disconnect, or work for a longer period of time.
  • Device may connect but not show an IP (0.0.0.0)  
Environment
  • Version 10.11.01 and newer
  • All Controllers
  • All Access Points
  • Management Frame Protection
  • WPA2-PSK
  • Microsoft Surface Pro
  • Some model barcode/hand scanners
  • Samsung Galaxy
Cause
Some devices are not compatible with MFP
Resolution
  • Workaround is to disable Management Frame Protection (MFP)
  • Make sure you are running the 10.31.03 firmware track or higher
