CliMaster process crashes when the "show configuration" command is executed and an non ASCII character is prevent in the configuration file

# sh port no-refresh
Port Summary

1                          Network-Mgmt        E     R
2     BACKUP-§             Video-link-19       E     R

In the example above, the "§" is an illegal non-ASCII character
Environment
EXOS 16.2.3.5
Summit
Cause
  • This could happen when the configuration file becomes corrupt
  • This can also happen when the configuration file is altered using a third party tool and not the CLI
Resolution
  • Removing any non-ASCII character resolves this.  In the example above, reconfiguring the port string, resolves this issue
# configure port 2 description-string BACKUP-2
# show port no-refresh

#     String               (or # VLANs)       State State Actual Actual
