Symptoms
After settting the date and time from the GUI or CLI, the switch time reverts back to the year 2011 after a reboot
Environment
  • Extreme 800-Series
  • All Firmware Versions
Cause
There is no battery backup for the Real Time Clock
This is working as designed
Resolution
Configure the 800-Series switch to use an NTP Server
Use the following commands to configure switch to SNTP server.

This command is used to turn on SNTP support:
enable sntp
This command is used to change SNTP configurations:
config sntp {primary <ipaddr> | secondary <ipaddr> | poll-interval <int 30-99999>}

This command is used to display SNTP current time source and configuration:
show sntp
