Symptoms
  • Device Name in OneView displays the Nickname instead of the System Name.
  • Changing the device tree name format to System Name isn't having any effect.

 
Environment
  • EXOS 
  • NetSight 7.1
  • Extreme Management
Cause

This is a known issue and being worked on.
 

Resolution

Workaround:
From NetSight Console:

1. Select the device.

2. Click on Show/Hide table editor icon:

3. Delete the nickname from the nickname field of the device:

4. Hit enter and then click Apply:

5. Right click on the device and select Refresh (Rediscover).

  • Confirm that correct read/write permissions are set.
