Symptoms
Disabling Virtual NAC Does not allow real NACs to function - Why?
Environment
  • IdentiFi
  • All Wireless Controllers
  • All Firmware Versions
  • Virtual NAC
  • 2 "Real" NACs
Cause
Virtual NAC was on same subnet as controller and REAL NACs were on a different subnet
Resolution
  1. Controller was exiting wrong port and causing asynchronous routing
  2. Trace Route to real NAC and verify traffic is going out correct port.
  3. Correct configuration to make sure NAC accesses controller on correct port
    • In this instance, there was a Topology previously created that had an IP on the same subnet as the NAC's.  When that was removed, the EWC used the correct port to send to NAC.
