TitleError message displayed when attempting to back up a configuration file
Symptoms
The following error is displayed when attempting to back up a configuration file.

X460G2-24p-G4.9 # tftp put 192.0.2.156 primary.cfg
Error: (2) Access violation

Environment
  • SummitFamily Switches
  • EXOS ALL
Cause
Issue on the TFTP server.
Resolution
Ensure the following on the switch to validate the switch is configured correctly:
  1. Make sure you have the appropriate VR (Virtual router) mentioned to the command executed. If you have connected a PC directly to the management port and trying to perform the action then please mentioned vr-mgmt if not vr-default.
  2. Make sure you can ping the TFTP ip address from the switch.
  3. Disable the firewall in the PC where you have the TFTP running.
The above steps confirm the switch is configured and have a established connection with the TFTP server. Please troubleshoot the TFTP server you are using for transferring the files.
Additional notes
Verify the TFTP Server is working   by uploading, or  downloading a config from a different switch.
