Symptoms
Extreme Control unable to identify the end system even if HTTP request URL has the MAC information correctly inserted
Environment
  • Extreme Control
  • XCA
  • EWC with Firewall Friendly Captive portal and MAC information injected into HTTP request
Cause
If the external captive portal URL contains "/static/index.jsp" the following HTTP header data is not used.
Resolution
Remove "/static/index.jsp" from the ECP URL
Additional notes
/static/index.jsp URL was a workaround for a legacy issue involving not being able to bypass the Extreme Control "Welcome" page. This issue has been fixed.
