Information

TitleExtremeCloud Appliance Dashboard shows no client data or client list
Symptoms
ExtremeCloud Appliance Dashboard shows no client data or client list.
Client data is not shown at random times and then will return.
Environment
  • ExtremeCloud Appliance
  • Version 4.56.02 and 4.56.03
  • Dashboard
  • Client list
Cause
It was determined that client entries with non-ascii character hostnames can cause corruption to the client database and restart the system processed used to populate this data.
Resolution
  • Workaround:  Track down clients through ExtremeAccess Control, End System event logs or XCA logging and remove the clients and/or blacklist them.  It was found that after repairing specific clients they were able to re-connect to the XCA without issue.
  • FIX: Resolved in firmware 4.56.05 or higher
Additional notes
Release Note: Improved handling and protection against possible corruption of client hostnames with non-printable characters, which could cause stats processing to stall. ECA-699
