ExtremeCloud Captive Portal Page not loading on the client device.
 
Environment

  • Lightspeed
  • Firewall
Cause
Firewall is blocking IP addresses needed for the captive portal to function.
Resolution
The Redirection Role will contain a number of Rules needed to communicate out to the ExtremeCloud for the Captive Portal function to work. 
  • To see these rules, log into the cloud GUI via https://ezcloudx.com
  • Select “Policy” à “Roles” à RedirectRole_<site name>

  • Click on “Configure Role”

  • These Rules can be reduced to three blocks of /8 networks or each /32 IP address would need to be allowed on the Firewall
  • The IP Networks and ports that should be allowed are:
35.0.0.0/16 TCP all ports
52.0.0.0/16 TCP all ports
54.0.0.0/16 TCP all port
