Symptoms
  • The NAC (Network Access Control) BIN upgrade fails and returns to root prompt.
  • Upgrade does not complete.
  • NAC OS upgrade failure.
  • Error ambiguous redirect
  • Error OS Upgrade failed. Exiting.

Cause
During the underlying OS upgrade a required resource is not retrievable from the internet. This causes the OS upgrade scriptlet to abort.

The exact error condition can be found in the /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log.

Resolution
Re-attempt upgrade after confirming the NAC appliance has full non-blocked internet access.
