Symptoms
ExtremeWireless Appliances do not send Radius Requests for 802.1x to a Radius Server after the Radius Server (NAC) was upgraded from 6.x to 7.x.
Environment
  • ExtremeWireless 
  • Firmware versions 10.21.xx, 10.31.xx
Cause
The root cause is that the software didn't support the case where a RADIUS server was back up after being down.
  • This scenario is for a WLAN Service with only 1 RADIUS server.
  • The RADIUS server is placed in the down state from another WLAN Service where the RADIUS server is the primary server (and there is at least 1 backup server).
Resolution
Please upgrade to 10.31.06, 10.41.01 or higher to resolve this issue
Additional notes
Release Note: wns0018861 -  Adding support for the case where a RADIUS server was back up after being down. And this scenario was for a WLAN Service with only 1 RADIUS server. And the RADIUS server was put in the down state from another WLAN Service where the RADIUS server was the primary server (and there is at least 1 backup server).
