Information

TitleExtremeWireless Synchronization failed: SSID conflict for AP:<AP name> [<serial number>]
Symptoms
  • Changes made to WLAN services fail to synchronize with secondary wireless controllers configured to work in "High Availability (HA)" mode.
  • Synchronization failed: SSID conflict for AP:WS-AP2610 [0500012345678901]
  • Failed to save WLAN Service: SSID conflict for AP:WS-AP2610 [0500012345678901]
  • Failed to save WLAN Service: SSID conflict
Environment
  • ExtremeWireless (formerly known as IdentiFi Wireless)
  • Wireless Appliances
  • All firmware versions
  • High Availability (HA)
Cause
A rare situation where two more WLAN Services configured with the exact same SSID Name have been applied to a common AP. Therefore forbidding the target WLAN services to successfully synchronize between wireless controllers in HA mode.

Two other causes of this error message can be:
  • AP Defaults have a Common Configuration with the WLAN Services mapped to both radios
  • A Load Group is created with multiple WLAN Services mapped to it
Resolution
  1. Locate the AP.
  2. Identify the conflicting SSIDs (WLAN Services).
  3. Disassociate the affected AP from the conflicting SSID (WLAN Services)
  4. Save
At this point the affected WLANs should successfully synchronize.

Also check:
  • AP à Global à Default Settings à Common Configuration tab.
Disable any WLAN Services (that use the same SSID) mapped to the radios and disable.
  • AP à Load Groups
Check for any Load Groups with WLAN Names configured (checked) that use the same SSID.  Disable these and save.
