Information

TitleHigh CPU utilization in the switch after re-creating an existing sharing group
Symptoms
The MPLS traffic gets software forwarded resulting in high CPU utilization in the switch.
This is seen after deleting an existing sharing group and re-creating the sharing group which is used to forward this MPLS traffic.

Below error messages are also seen
<Erro:Kern.MPLS.Error> extreme_custom_mpls_port_ecmp_ipmc_update_async_rtn:
MPLS ECMP NH vp : 0x39 l3intf = 0x603 map entry not found in btree rv = -7 (Entry not found)

Environment
Summit X670 and BD-X8
EXOS 15.6.4
Issue seen in an MPLS configured network.
Cause
After the re-creation of an existing sharing group, the entries were not programmed properly in hardware.
Hence the traffic to the destination are forwarded via the CPU causing the high CPU utilization which results in the latency and packet loss.
This is identified as a bug and tracked via the CR xos0064033.

Resolution
The software fix for this CR is available in the following versions.

15.6.5.2 patch 1-1 and above
16.1.3.6 patch 1-8 and above
16.2.1 and above
21.1.1.4 patch 1-5 and above
