TitleHigh Port utilization noticed on MVR receiver port
Symptoms
High port utilization observed on the port configured to be the MVR receiver port.
Multicast traffic from the sender is forwarded to the configured MVR receiver port even though there is no membership report received in those VLANs.

Cause
On MVR receiver port, the multicast traffic is forwarded unnecessarily when there is any router port in the MVR enabled VLANs.
Beacuse of this, high port utilization is noticed.

This is identified as a software bug.

 
Resolution
CR xos0064960 has been created to address this problem.
Fix is available in the SW releases:

16.1.3.6 patch 1-10 and above.
15.7.4.2. patch 1-1 and above.
15.6.5.2 patch 1-2 and above.

Please check the release notes of the software version to confirm the availability of the fix.
