Information

TitleIdentiFi - Controllers Config Manager has experienced an error which has prevented it from properly processing a request
Symptoms
  • After upgrade from one revision of code to another my access points are reporting a configuration error
  • The IdentiFi controller is logging:
Controllers Config Manager has experienced an error which has prevented it from properly processing a request. CM will continue running, however this error may be an indicator of a larger system problem. Error Details:AP[1404011308410000] reported at least one configuration item to be invalid. The erroneous encoded configuration item is: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Environment
  • IdentiFi
  • Firmware any
  • Config Manager
  • Any IdentiFi Access Point
Cause
A configuration change on the access point is needed but the access point has not updated it's code yet to support a new feature.
Resolution
Confirm the access point reporting the error is on the latest code revision the controller is running. This can happen during a fail over where the access points are not upgraded yet or if controlled upgrade is selected.
How is firmware downloaded to the IdentiFi Wireless Access Points?
