« Go Back

Information

TitleInternal error when using the default home page on IE using captive portal and NAC
Symptoms
When using the default go.microsoft.com homepage on IE and Windows 10 I get an internal error for my captive portal redirection
Environment
  • NAC
  • Identifi
  • Windows 10
  • Internet Explorer 11
  • IE
Cause
IE tries to connect to go.microsoft.com and as it's in the list of "allowed domains" NAC does not do the DNS redirect which can cause the "internal error" to appear
Resolution
Go to - Tools - advanced configuration - portal configuration - network settings and click "allowed web sites".
Here remove "microsoft.com" from the allowed domains.
After enforcing this change this error should not appear anymore as NAC will hijack this DNS request.
