Information

TitleLocal multicast traffic is not egressing via newly added member port in a LAG.
Symptoms
Local multicast traffic is not egressing via newly added member port in a LAG.
Environment
  • EXOS 15.7 and higher
  • Local group multicast 224.0.0.0/24
  • LAG
Cause
This is a known software issue tracked by CR xos0065615.
Resolution
Upgrade to an EXOS version containing the fix for CR xos0065615:
  • EXOS 16.1.4.2-patch1-7
  • EXOS 16.2.2.4

Workaround:
After adding additional port, triggering the re-programming of multicast cache entry with the command <clear igmp snooping> helps to solve the issue.

Additional notes
If command mentioned below has been configured, it will cause other features requiring IP multicast local reception to not work properly.
Examples of these are IGMP snooping, OSPF, RIP, and PIM.

configure ipmcforwarding to-cpu off ports <port_#>
