Loops in EAPS protected vlan with ELSM

« Go Back

Information

TitleLoops in EAPS protected vlan with ELSM
Symptoms
Loops in EAPS protected VLAN with ELSM protected ports
Environment
  • EXOS all
Cause
Loops occur in an EAPS-protected VLANs after peer reboot, if a VLAN’s port is also protected by ELSM.
In existing EAPS domains with an EAPS shared port.
Add a new VLAN and protect that to two domains.
As soon the link on the EAPS master Secondary port is down and comes up again ELSM is changing the vpif state for that new VLAN into forwarding instead of the EAPS actual state. This will result in a loop in that specific VLAN.
Resolution
This is fixed in CR# xos0061038
