  • Traffic is passing normally so it is not service affecting
Environment
  • MLX/MLXe/CER/CES series
  • Netiron OS 6.00f or later
Cause
CER devices generate a syslog notification whenever there is a mismatch between the Layer 2 header source MAC address and the ARP sender MAC address.
Resolution
  • Disable the Ethernet MAC address and ARP MAC address mismatch detection syslog message
    telnet@MLX#configure terminal
    telnet@MLX(config)#no logging enable mac-mismatch-detection
    telnet@MLX(config)#exit
    telnet@MLX#write memory
