Symptoms
The backup MSM never reach the "In-Sync" state and stays in "present" state

In the log you can see:
02/13/2017 18:50:07.61 <Erro:cm.configSyncErr> MSM-A: Failed to synchronize configuration files, system may not operate correctly.
02/13/2017 18:49:55.15 <Warn:cm.configNotInSync> MSM-A: Backup node has different configuration files than primary node. Auto configuration file synchronization will be performed.
Environment
  • BD-8K
  • EXOS all
Cause
There are large files on the internal memory /usr/local/tmp and there is no space left on that partition.
The MSM's are not able to synchronize and the backup will never reach the "In-Sync" state.

Resolution
Remove all large files from /usr/local/tmp on both MSM's and reboot the backup MSM
