  • Internal error may have occurred in reading counters
  • Normal packet processing not affected
Resolution

Port Status/Control Problems Corrected in 8.42.04.0016
Messages similar to the following may unexpectedly be logged on S180 I/O Fabric Module and S180 I/O Module assemblies:

<164>Jun 6 14:07:27 10.50.65.155 NIM[6.tNimErrMon]MAC 12 port 8 transmitted 904537 malformed packet(s) in last 60 seconds (total = 904537)
The messages indicate that an internal error may have occurred when reading counter values from switch hardware. Normal packet switching/routing is not affected.

If a SOV3208-0202 option module is installed on a SK8208-0808-F8 fabric module, and one or more of the 10G ports on the fabric module contain 1G SFPs, then link may not be properly established on the ports with SFPs following system initialization.
