Symptoms
  • Memory Leak
  • Eventual Reset with the following:
  • Severity/Facility: FATAL/KERNEL
  • Task: tCLI0
  • Injection Point: memPartLib.c:2498
  • Address: 0x00000000
  • memPartAlloc: block too big 84624 bytes (0x10 aligned) in partition 0x2234548
Environment
  • N-Series - Firmware 7.62 and earlier
  • S-Series - Firmware 8.31.02 or earlier
  • Syslog Server configured
Cause
When syslog servers are configured, if any of the following cli commands are issued:
  • show support
  • show config
  • show config logging
The switch will lose (leak) 144 bytes of memory. If commands are issued frequently enough the switch will reset, logging a message similar to:

  • N-Series : Please upgrade to 7.63.04.0002
  • S-Series : Please upgrade to 8.32.01.0021
