NAC Group Editor Without NAC Configuration Capability

« Go Back

Information

TitleNAC Group Editor Without NAC Configuration Capability
Symptoms
When a user doesn't have read/write access to NAC configuration, there is no way for them to access the group editor (which has a separate capability).

The group editor should be accessible if the user has group edit capabilities, regardless of whether the user has NAC read/write capability.
Environment
  • EMC version 8.0.2 and 8.0.3
  • Control > Access Control tab
  • Group Editor
Cause
  • Fixed behavior with the read-only group interface (hid "acquire lock" buttons on each grid).
Resolution
  • Upgrade to 8.0.4.54 or newer
Additional notes
In the 8.0.4.54 release and newer the Control tab in the main product nav bar and the "Access Control" tab are now both present if the user has Group Editor privileges (even if they don't have capabilities to otherwise manage NAC and Policy).
