Network disruption between EXOS and VSP

TitleNetwork disruption between EXOS and VSP
Symptoms
Customer performed conversion from Cisco to Extreme networks and have experienced configuration change without any input on VSP8200.
Command no spanning-tree mstp force-port-state enable disappeared from port gig 1/1 configuration connected to EXOS device.

They were able to:
  • to see ARP entries on gateway
  • to ping gateway
  • but there was no communication to other networks
Environment
  • VSP8200
  • Cisco GBIC module
Cause
non Avaya/Extreme hardware used
Resolution
recommended to replace Cisco GBIC module with Avaya/Extreme, because we are not taking responsibility for 3rd party Vendor HW.
