Symptoms
  • Initial configuration of Wireless controller statistics collection
  • OneView shows Wireless controllers as Down
  • OneView > Administration tab > View > Wireless Domain Data shows SYNC_SUCCEEDED
  • Console shows Wireless controllers as Up
  • Oneview device tab shows controller green but Wireless tab showed down with no data
Environment
All NetSight Platforms
OneView
Cause
Possible cause: VMware server crashed and was restored. 
Resolution
  1. Start NetSight Console.
  2. Right click on the affected controller(s)
  3. Select OneView > Collect Device Statistics
  4. Un-check both options for Wireless Controller and Wireless Clients
  5. Start OneView 
  6. Select the Devices tab
  7. Find the affected controller(s)
  8. Verify there is no check-mark under the Stats column
  9. Select the Administration tab
  10. Click on Diagnostics
  11. Expand Historical Statistics Collector
  12. Select Statistics Collection Configuration
  13. Search for the affected controller(s)
  14. Delete any affected controller(s) listed
  15. Select Statistics Collection Targets
  16. Search for the affected controller(s)
  17. Delete any affected controller(s) listed
  18. Return to NetSight Console
  19. Right click on the affected controller(s)
  20. Select OneView > Collect Device Statistics
  21. Check off both options for Wireless Controller and Wireless Clients
Secondary Possible Resolution:
If the date on the NetSight server is off it could cause problems with the controllers showing up in OneView. Make sure the time on the NetSight server is current.

Third Resolution Option 
Delete the Controller from Netsight Server and rediscover
Additional notes
After running the above procedure, it is necessary to wait for two Polling cycles (i.e. 30 minutes) to verify if there has been any effect. 

The wireless controller also needs to be modeled without an SNMP context as this will cause unexpected issue in oneView.
