PWA slow login response

« Go Back

Information

TitlePWA slow login response
Symptoms
  • PWA response generally slow
  • PWA occasionally becomes unresponsive under heavy load. Device resets with this message in the log:
  • <0>PWA[1.tPwaHtWD]pwaHttpReadWatchDog expired!
  • PWA is occasionally unable to respond to HTTP requests under heavy user login load. Related syslog message:
  • "PWA[2.tLwipRecv]pwaTransmitPkt() transmit failed"
Environment
  • S-Series
  • PWA
  • Firmware prior to 8.22
Cause
The errors are bugs that are resolved in firmware
Resolution
  1. Upgrade to 8.22.01.0023 or higher
  2. Ensure that the vlan/path for the PWA page requests is not congested and causing slow delivery
Additional notes
Any messages that have “0.0.0.0” like these can be ignored:

"PWA[1.tHttCapIn]tHttpServer(34,0.0.0.0):etharp_lookup"

They are overzealous. We will never have arp entry data to return for a source address of 0.0.0.0 since we deliberately discard such data if it is attempted to be added.
