Symptoms
  • Authentication is enabled on one of the ports.
  • Authentication has been globally enabled on the switch.
  • CLI commands on EXOS switch does not appear to be complete when pushed from Policy Manager
  • Command missing is:  configure netlogin add mac-list ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff 48
Environment
  • NetSight
  • Policy Manager
  • Summit G2 running firmware 16.1.1.xx or higher
  • XoS
Cause
Password was not set in Policy Manager for the MAC user.
Resolution
1.  Start Policy Manager.
2.  Change to the Network Elements/Port Groups tab.
3.  Change to the Authentication tab on the right.
4.  Change to the MAC Authentication Settings tab at the bottom.
5.  Enter in a password for the MAC User Password field.
6.  Click the Apply button.
