Policy manager gives error when sharing is enabled on an EXOS switch

« Go Back

Information

TitlePolicy manager gives error when sharing is enabled on an EXOS switch
Symptoms
When a switch is already in a policy domain with Global mac authentication enabled, it will give an error in port view or Details view on the console app.
Environment
  • EXOS
  • Macauthentication
  • EMC
  • Policy manager 7.0
Cause
This error is caused by the default view that includes macauth status. When sharing is enabled on EXOS etsysMACAuthentication mib instances are deleted for the sharing ports and cannot be polled.
Because of this the port list throws an error and is not displayed.
Resolution
The solution will be upgrading to EMC that contains a fix for CR net0043359 (scoped for 8.0 for now).
A workaround is to use the basic view in the Console app or use the Oneview view that does not include macauth in its columns.
Another workaround is unchecking authentication mode before enabling sharnig.
