Symptoms
Multiple issues related to certain ports on VDX switch including:
  • port flapping
  • port not coming up regardless of configuration
  • port not learning MAC address
  • packet loss
Environment
  • VDX series
  • Network OS
Cause
Optics inserted into these ports are unqualified and are not supported on the VDX platform.
NSM-1042], 10435, SW/0 | Active | DCE, WARNING, core-sw1, Unqualified SFP transceiver for interface FortyGigabitEthernet 1/0/20 is detected.

  Interface        TenGigabitEthernet 5/0/27
  Optic is not Brocade qualified for current protocol, optical monitoring is not supported
Resolution
Replace the optic with a Extreme qualified and supported optic.
