Symptoms
Repeated reboots with messages EXT4-fs error and Rebooting the system due to KAT failure.
Environment
  • VDX6740
  • Any version of NOS software
Cause
This issue can occur due to corruption of individual files and is not necessarily the result of a hardware fault in the CF drive.
Resolution
It may be possible to recover from this condition with partition swap or netinstall. When possible these steps should be attempted before replacing hardware.
