Cause
Next hop routed interface must have valid return route
Resolution
Login to the Next-hop Router and verify a return route statement is configured pointing back to the controller's physical IP address used (normally the management IP address).

There are two places a next-hop can be set for the routed topology clients:
  • 1st Option = VNS Tab > Topologies > select topology being used > DHCP configuration > Next-hop field
  • 2nd Option = If DHCP next-hop not being set, the controller Default Route will be used under Controller Tab > Network > Routing Protocols
