TitleModular (N,S,K,7K): "System[x]Chassis x Power supply x is not operational."
Symptoms
  • "System[x]Chassis x Power supply x is not operational," where x is a numeric value that identifies the system id, chassis id (where the PS is installed) and the PS number. 
  • Power Supplies LEDs are Green and functioning
  • The output of the command "show system" displays messages similar to the following:

4 | not installed | not installed

  • The output of the command "show logging buffer" displays messages similar to the following: 
<187>Jul  1 15:33:33 10.0.22.100 System[4]Chassis 1 Power supply 1 is not operational.

 
Environment
  • K-Series
  • S-Series
  • Power Supply Unit (PSU)
  • Firmware 08.22.03.0006 and greater
Cause
  • Poor connection to the backplane. 
  • Bad power cord.
  • Defective PSU
Resolution
  • Make sure the power cord is working properly
  • Reseat the affected Power Supplies

  • If power is verified, and reseat of PSU does not fix, please contact the GTAC to open a case.
