Symptoms
S-Series ACL not allowing DHCP on Routed interface in same subnet that ACL is applied
Environment
  • S-Series
  • All Firmware
  • DHCP Server on local S-Series
Cause
  • If an ACL is applied to an interface, a client without an IP address will be seen with source IP of 0.0.0.0 and we will treat it as a routed packet
  • The implicit deny all will block DHCP requests
  • Functioning as designed (FAD)
Resolution
Create a rule permitting source host 0.0.0.0
