Symptoms
After a system shutdown/reboot, none of the blades will be able to boot to the user name prompt. They will display the following error message on the console:
Press any key to enter System Image Loader menu

auto-booting...

/flash0/  - Volume is OK
Loading S-77000-0002...                DONE.

Uncompressing System Image...          DONE.

Loading System Image...                DONE.

Installed SDRAM: 2048 MB


Initializing Platform Hardware

Could not read Part Number from Chassis EEPROM - CRC mismatch
To date we have only encountered a part number corruption but it’s possible the other fields can also get corrupted.  If corruption occurred, similar messages will be displayed 
  • Could not read Serial Number from Chassis EEPROM - CRC mismatch
  • Could not read Base MAC and Address Count from Chassis EEPROM - CRC mismatch
  • Could not read OEM Vendor ID from Chassis EEPROM - CRC mismatch
  • Could not read Chassis Type from Chassis EEPROM - CRC mismatch

Cause
Information in the Chassis EEPROM has been corrupted.
