Symptoms
  • Default route redistributed by directly connected router not in route table
  • Default route learned from router two hops away is in route table
  • Both default route are in show ip ospf database
  • OSPF network statements overlap
router ospf 1
network 10.1.0.00.0.255.255  area 10.10.10.10
network 10.1.0.00.0.0.3 area 0.0.0.0
  • Changing  the first network statement to area 0.0.0.0 resolves
Environment
S-Series
Cause
Network statement for a different area overlapped the interface statement for the interface connected directly to the router redistributing the default route.
Resolution
change both  interfaces to area 0.0.0.0
